Introduction

This is an exciting time for the communications industry — networks are converging; new applications that emulate a Web 2.0 experience are now available; and full-featured handsets can deliver rich content and information effortlessly. At Openwave, we are keeping pace by supporting new business models with contextual merchandising, introducing a new proxy to support open internet access, and creating a converged messaging experience that is unlike any other available on feature phones today. On the client side, our mobile widgets technology capitalizes on the common components and platforms of mass-produced devices and adds the value of customization according to market segments and individual subscribers.
