  OPENWAVE LAUNCHES PERSONALIZED AUDIO AND VIDEO RINGBACK SOLUTION
  

  Complete Handset, Network and Content Infrastructure Solution Designed for Both Wireless and Wireline Service Providers
 
LOS ANGELES, CTIA IT & Entertainment - September 12, 2006 -- Openwave Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: OPWV), the leading provider of open software products and services for the communications industry, today announced the Openwave® Audio and Video Ringback Solution, a content plus infrastructure solution. The new solution is comprised of Openwave's IP-based Adaptive Messaging Platform, as well as a content management platform and broad music content catalog from Musiwave, an Openwave company.

Already in trials with a leading US operator, the Openwave Audio Video Ringback solution supports both wireless and wireline service providers and is designed to create a customized and personal mobile experience. The solution offers a unique way to set personalized ringback notifications that can be played to specific callers or groups of callers, by choosing a favorite artist or track, in either audio or video format. Users can access Musiwave's content management platform which includes access to a catalog with a wide range of ringback tones, videos and celebrity greetings.
