  OPENWAVE SYSTEMS HOSTS MESSAGING ANTI-ABUSE CONFERENCE
  

  What: Openwave brings together the world's leading wireline and wireless operators, regulators, direct marketers and solution providers to address the issues around messaging system abuse in email, Multimedia Messaging Services (MMS) and Short Messaging Services (SMS). Renowned anti-abuse experts will discuss how law enforcement, legislation and technology are being used to fight spam and viruses.

Partial list of speakers include:
  • Wednesday, September 24, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., Lawrence Lessig, Professor of Law and John A. Wilson Distinguished Faculty Scholar at Stanford Law School, presents "The Truth About Anti-Spam Legislation."
  • Thursday, September 25, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., Eileen Harrington, Director Marketing Practices Division for the Federal Trade Commission, presents "A Vision for a Spam-Free Internet."
  • Thursday, September 25, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., Richard Wong, General Manager of Messaging Applications at Openwave Systems, will moderate a roundtable "Abuse in Mobile Messaging: Lessons From Wireline Operators."
  • Thursday, September 25, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Neil Cook, Systems Architect at Openwave Systems, will present "Building an Efficient, Secure Messaging Systems Architecture."
