Thoughts from the Long Flight Home

Despite being exhausted on the long flight back from Barcelona, I kept replaying everything that I had heard and seen at MWC. Just as data services reach new levels of demand, Openwave is embarking on its next chapter as a context-aware mediation company, a provider of smart solutions that help our customers take into account all the different devices, networks, content and user behaviors to maximize limited bandwidth and deliver the best online experience.

Mobile World Congress fueled a bevy of activity for Openwave; we announced three new solutions within our Traffic Mediation and Data Mediation portfolios. We released our Winter 2010 Mobile Insights Report – our analysis of real subscriber data from a real operator. In addition, we had tons of great news coverage surrounding the show. One interview in particular from Wireless Week is worth a read: "Openwave's Next Chapter." It best captures the exciting new direction our company is headed and the main reason why I couldn't sleep on the flight home.
